Healthcare Costs

Healthcare Costs

Obamacare. This 2,300-page behemoth law lacks the common, and almost always present, severability clause. Therefore, it cannot be amended or repaired. Obamacare was not functional and has collapsed on its own. The exchanges don’t work. Our citizens need and deserve access to affordable healthcare.

Before Obamacare, our government put in place a law that restricts insurance companies from conducting their business across state boundaries. This has proven disastrous and costly for all Americans. This has limited free commerce and the ability of competition from holding down healthcare costs. Furthermore, it has put a bigger burden on those who belong to small groups of people with unique ailments. Elimination of state boundaries would allow these individuals to join with individuals from other states and create a “voice” whereby the insurance companies could underwrite their needs and much more competitive costs.
